For New Jersey General Assembly, District 25
My first priority is to bring meaningful representation of Morris County to Trenton. We can no longer be satisfied with stagnant governance, outdated ideas, and self-serving policies. The time for change is now. New Jersey needs a comprehensive plan to weather this storm.
I am committed to protecting our State's resources. Fiscally, that means we have to watch every penny we spend and avoid rubber-stamping expenditures. Through the establishment of a bipartisan cost-cutting caucus, we will eliminate areas of waste. As a starting point, this caucus would eliminate excess spending like the recent misuse of automobiles by the Division of Children and Families, inefficient school spending in under-populated districts, and reduce internal bureaucracy.
Protecting our resources also means protecting our residents. By restructuring community healthcare and investing in local clinics and preventive care we can reduce the cost of medical care overall. We need to be proactive, not reactive. We must ensure that our schools are adequately funded, and that our teachers have access to current textbooks and technology so that our students are prepared for future challenges.
We need to act now to protect our State's natural resources. Simple, everyday steps to reduce waste and increase sustainability benefit our citizens and reduce the cost of many government services. Morris County is in a unique agricultural position, with outstanding farms, dairies and orchards that provide local produce, cheese and meat. I will introduce legislation to offer incentives for small businesses to work with our local producers, allowing Morris County to become more self-sufficient and poised for greater economic growth.
